Box car racing is so cool!

Saturday was filled with great weather, awesome friends, and box car racing!  This was actually a great day for the kids.  They…had…FUN!  I mean, this was the closest thing to driving for these kids so of course they were totally psyched.  American Box Car Racing International is located in Kunia, opposite of Ewa Beach on Oahu.  Each group has their own area, and you have about two hours to race.  Outside food and drinks (no alcohol) are welcomed, which was sort of hassle but worth it.  They do provide you with a cart so you can move items to and from your car.  We went on a hot day so luckily we had lots of juice and water.  It was practically gone at the end of our session.  Be ready to do a lot of lifting.  The box car has to be lifted from the front and pushed to the starting line…which is on an incline.  Needless to say, I got my work out.  The only downside is the bathrooms…porta-potties only.

About the food.  We were celebrating a birthday and didn’t want to hassle with much.  Luckily, someone recommended S and P Kitchen in Kalihi.  Those guys were awesome.  The food was good, but the best part was that they delivered…no delivery fee!  My wife did all the arrangements and had nothing but great things to say about this guys.

It was a great day.  Maybe this can be something for adults only……
